Uniformly antisymmetric function with bounded range

چکیده
The goal of this note is to construct a uniformly antisymmetric function f : R → R with a bounded countable range. This answers Problem 1(b) of Ciesielski and Larson [6]. (See also the list of problems in Thomson [9] and Problem 2(b) from Ciesielski’s survey [5].) A problem of existence of uniformly antisymmetric function f : R → R with finite range remains open. A function f : R → R is said to be uniformly antisymmetric [6] (or nowhere weakly symmetrically continuous [9]) provided for every x ∈ R the limit limn→∞(f(x+ sn)− f(x− sn)) equals 0 for no sequence {sn}n<ω converging to 0. Uniformly antisymmetric functions have been studied by Kostyrko [7], Ciesielski and Larson [6], Komjáth and Shelah [8], and Ciesielski [1, 2]. (A connection of some of these results to the paradoxical decompositions of the Euclidean space R is described in Ciesielski [3].) In particular in [6] the authors constructed a uniformly antisymmetric function f : R → N and noticed that the existence of a uniformly antisymmetric function cannot be proved without an essential use of the axiom of choice.

Construction of strict Lyapunov function for nonlinear parameterised perturbed systems
In this paper, global uniform exponential stability of perturbed dynamical systems is studied by using Lyapunov techniques. The system presents a perturbation term which is bounded by an integrable function with the assumption that the nominal system is globally uniformly exponentially stable. Some examples in dimensional two are given to illustrate the applicability of the main results.
متن کاملOn fixed points of fundamentally nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces
We first obtain some properties of a fundamentally nonexpansive self-mapping on a nonempty subset of a Banach space and next show that if the Banach space is having the Opial condition, then the fixed points set of such a mapping with the convex range is nonempty. In particular, we establish that if the Banach space is uniformly convex, and the range of such a mapping is bounded, closed and con...

In this paper, the design of a distributed adaptive controller for a class of unknown non-affine MIMO strict-feedback multi agent systems with time delay has been performed under a directed graph. The controller design is based on dynamic surface control method. In the design process, radial basis function neural networks (RBFNNs) were employed to approximate the unknown nonlinear functions. S...

This paper deals with a free vibration analysis of functionally graded elliptical plates with different classical boundary conditions on the basis of polynomial-Ritz method and classical plate theory. The proposed admissible function is capable to obtain accurate natural frequencies of various classical boundary conditions namely, clamped, free and simply supported edges. The mechanical propert...
